I wanted to give them something everyone needs - a bed and breakfast which was a beautiful place to celebrate, to gather, and to unwind and rejuvenate."

Development of Beck Lake Bed and Breakfast with Luxury Guest House took five years, starting with the design and construction of the Guest House. Unlike properties which have been converted to serve as bed and breakfast accommodation, Beck Lake B & B and Guest House in Nanaimo was designed from the outset to serve as a Guest House, with luxurious privacy built into every square inch.

"I'm especially proud of our four-and-a-half star rating, which reflects the effort I've put into creating this B & B with Guest House." A perfectionist with a talent for design, Gayle wanted every guest to experience an affordable world of luxury in which no detail had been overlooked.

Examples of her attention to detail include:

• Individual volume controls for the speakers strategically placed throughout the Bed and Breakfast, both in the Guest House and on the grounds
• Custom-made, coordinated furniture designed specifically for the Guest House and for the B & B guest rooms in Gayle's home
• A combination jacuzzi and hydro-therapy bathtub and shower, guaranteed to soothe sore bodies and ease stressed spirits
• Egyptian cotton sheets and feather-light pillows and duvets to ensure downy comfort and restful sleep

The creation of a luxurious and rejuvenating sanctuary continues on the bed and breakfast grounds, which feature a delightful rock garden overlooking the lake in rural south Nanaimo. Dotted with multiple fountains, the private garden also includes a fire pit, benches placed to showcase the view, speakers for background music, and nighttime illumination.

In addition to the Guest House, Beck Lake Bed and Breakfast also offers the beautiful Serenity Suite, a combination of bedroom, private bathroom and sitting room in the main house. Both the Guest House and the B & B Serenity Suite include a bountiful breakfast.

Gayle's previous experience includes six years' operating a successful bed and breakfast in Brentwood Bay, near the world-renowned Butchardt Gardens. She is also a superlative chef, having owned and operated five successful restaurants.

This wealth of experience gives her the skills to offer guests an enhanced level of service, whether it is ensuring the perfect wedding cake, catering for a business retreat, or sending the company limousine to pick up guests at the Nanaimo airport.
