Find Your Sanctuary at this bed and breakfast in NanaimoDespite a peaceful, rural setting in south Nanaimo, our Bed and Breakfast with Guest House is only 10 minutes from the Vancouver Island section of the Trans-Canada Highway. We are located south of Nanaimo and are easy to find from the B.C. Ferries terminal at Duke Point, from the Departure Bay Terminal in downtown Nanaimo, and from the Nanaimo airport. Lower Mainland via Duke PointIf you are coming from the lower mainland of B.C., you will sail from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal in Delta, which is just south of Vancouver. The terminal is well-marked. You will be sailing on the Mid-Island Route, which sails between Tsawwassen Ferry terminal and the Duke Point Ferry Terminal south of Nanaaimo. The crossing takes approximately 2 hours. (Bring your camera - you may spot whales or dolphins or want to capture photos of the beautiful Gulf Islands.) Expect delays during high volume times and rough water. During the summer, it can be a good idea to make a reservation in advance. For more information on B.C. Ferries, please click here. Exit the ferry at Duke Point onto Hwy. #19. This is just south of Nanaimo. You will drive inland for approximately 10 kilometers, then exit Southbound onto Highway 1 as if going to Victoria. Stay in the right-hand lane. The second right-hand exit is Minetown Road in Nanaimo. Turn right onto Minetown Road and follow the road inland for 4 km. Turn left on Caledonia Avenue. The road is partially paved but changes to packed gravel shortly before you reach our rural retreat. We are located on the right side of the street at number 2183. Watch for the flowers.

Take the Trans Canada Highway #1 to the Horseshoe Bay B.C. Ferries terminal in North Vancouver. The terminal is well-marked. Board the ferry for Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, which sails between Horseshoe Bay and the Departure Bay ferry terminal in Nanaimo. The crossing takes approximately 1.5 hours. Continue driving south on Stewart Avenue until it merges with the Island Highway - just follow the signs as if going to southern Vancouver Island or Victoria. Stay in the right-hand lane. Take the second right turn past the Duke Point overpass. This is Minetown Road in Nanaimo. Turn right onto Minetown Road and follow the road inland for 4 km. Turn left on Caledonia Avenue.
